Chocolate Pop-Up Lounge: Special discounted chocolate and tastings will take place from 2-4pm daily through Valentine's Day at the Evolve Chocolate Pop-up Lounge, 1313 N. Whatcom Reads Kickoff: As part of this year's Whatcom READS! events, discuss Ruth Ozeki's A Tale for the Time Being at 2:30pm at the Ferndale Library (2125 Main St.) and 7pm at the Point Roberts Library (1437 Gulf Rd.). Ozeki will be in Whatcom County in early March to share the book and participate in additional events. more »

Heart-racing Run: Staffers and volunteers are always on hand to guide the way at the weekly All-Paces Run starting at 6pm every Tuesday at Fairhaven Runners, 1209 11th St. The runs are 20 minutes out and back on two key routes—by the water or through the woods. Tonight's "You Make My Heart Race" run will feature prizes, color-coded clothing clothing to delineate your dating status, demos by Brooks, and heart-shaped treats. Entry is free. Monkey Celebration: Chef Robert Fong celebrates in the kitchen with a "Year of the Monkey" class from 6:30-9pm at the Community Food Co-op, 1220 N. Noisy Water Reading: At 7pm, selected poets who are published in Noisy Water: Poetry from Whatcom County will read from their works at Sudden Valley's South Whatcom Library, 10 Barn View Court. The collection features works by 101 writers. Entry to the all-ages event is free. more »

Gear Swap: Bellingham Mountaineers will host a Gear Swap at 7pm at the Bellingham YMCA, 1256 N. State St. Attendees can buy and sell used outdoor gear at the event, which is open to the public. more »

Skagit Folk Dancers: Join the Skagit-Anacortes Folk Dancers for a weekly International Folk Dancing event from 7-9:30pm at Bayview Civic Hall, 12615 C St. No partners are needed; just show up and dance. Entry to the drop-in event is free for the first session, $3 afterwards. more »
