The Zombies

Cue the British Invasion

One of the much-cherished perks of my job is that it often affords me opportunities to see live music that I would not otherwise have if I’d chosen a different line of work. As such, I am occasionally moved to attend a concert or a show out of sheer curiosity rather than established fandom.

Such was the case when the Zombies paid a visit to the Mount Baker Theatre a couple of years ago. I was, of course, familiar with the ‘60s-era rock band via hits like “She’s Not There,” “Tell Her No,” and “Time of the Season,” but I cannot say that I was an avowed fan. I’m happy to report the concert was excellent, and if you’re wondering whether original Zombies Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone can still harmonize with the best of them, the answer is a decided yes.

But you don’t have to take my word for it, reliable though my opinion might be. The Zombies are coming back, this time to play an Aug. 31 show at the Silver Reef Casino. Tickets are still available, so feel free to indulge your own curious nature.

The Zombies play Aug. 31 at the Silver Reef Casino, Haxton Way at Slater Road. Tickets are $29.50 and info can be had at
