Free Fridays at the Buff

Get what you pay for

They say nothing in life is free. They say you get what you pay for.

I don’t know who “they” are, but they’re clearly not on staff at the Wild Buffalo.

Because, as they have done in the past, every Friday in February, the Buff is hosting free shows. They kicked the series of complimentary concerts off on Fri., Feb 1 with a show by Jon Wayne and the Pain, who arrived at the bar with a $20,000 light rig dubbed by the band as its “ReggaeTronic laser dub show.”

But the Wild Buffalo was just getting started.

Come Fri., Feb. 8, Zion I (no, that’s not a misprint) will be the next headliner in the free Friday lineup (yes, it really is free). Keeping in mind that this hip-hop performer can sell out the Buffalo on a regular night with a regular cover charge, it’s safe to say that if you are interested in attending this free fiesta of fun, you’d best be in line when the venue’s doors open at 8pm and they begin doling out the first-come, first-served tickets.

After that, Medium Troy and Jiminy Glitch will play their free show on Fri., Feb. 15, while Jokers of the Scene and Boom Box Kid will close out the month of gratis good times.

Someone also once said that the best things in life are free. When it comes to Fridays in February at the Wild Buffalo, “they” couldn’t be more right.

Free Fridays at the Wild Buffalo (208 W. Holly St.) continues at 8pm this Fri., Feb. 8 with Zion I and A-1. Cost: Free. More info: http://www.wildbuffalo.net
